I’m Steve Tomori and I am an
NYC-based multimedia designer who works with books, photography, and print;
I have a BFA in Design from
Mason Gross School of the Arts and a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies.
I believe that all art and stories should be protected, collected and archived. We must be able to look to the past to create a better future. I find inspiration from all that people, places and things have to offer.

Notes on Horror

Represent and express the subject matter using the distinctive qualities of the book. Experiment with how
the form of the book can illuminate your subject. Explore
the book’s ability to highlight contrasts and similarities
in content; the relationship between text and image; to
provide consistency as well as surprise; how a book is an event itself, with a pace and rhythm, delivering the story’s beginning, middle and end. Using the lens of horror I
wanted to explore how type can create the idea of
suspense and visual contrast.

‘Mother Earth News’ Series

This series is meant to explore and call out what is happening to Earth and how climate change is a direct relation to human interference with quotes from Murray Bookchin while featuring old magazine cut outs. Pairing these together and “recycling” and reusing the images
in new ways to call out new things.
